Smokey Robinson explained why he does not want to be called African American during a recent appearance on the talk show The View. The Motown singer confessed that he resents being called African American and prefers to be called Black. Black Twitter reacted strongly to his opinion and it sparked a debate about what Black Americans should be called since the African American term has fallen out of favor.
