Osun Gubernatorial Elections: Infighting And Division Rocks APC | PLUS POLITICS
The Osun state gubernatorial election is fast approaching and its nearness, the rift between the former governor of the state and Minister of Interior Rauf Aregbesola and the current Governor Gboyega Oyetola is set to take a new turn. The two fell out after Gboyega took office in 2018, causing the party in the state to be split into two factions. Aregbesola has expressed his support for a former Secretary to the State Government, Moshood Adeoti. Meanwhile, members of the party loyal to Aregbesola have written a letter to Bola Ahmed Tinubu accusing Governor Oyetola of attacking Aregbesola’s legacies and imposing leaders on party members. They also alleged that Oyetola is a weak candidate who could be easily defeated by a strong opposition candidate.
