DOM organises Iftaar party to promote harmony and brotherhood

Jammu, 29.04.22: Dalit OBC Minority (DOM), a wing of All India Confederation of SC/ST/OBC Organisations organised an Iftaar party at Holy Umar Masjid, Azad Nagar, Gaddigarh Jammu today. This social gathering was organised on the religious observance of Ramzan, and is often done as a community wherein Muslim people break their fast.

RK Kalsotra, State President Confederation and Chairperson DOM, said that such gatherings are a message of unity in diversity which is the essence of India but is being destroyed by the anti social elements.These gatherings reflect the message of brotherhood, harmony, peace, fraternity and also tells us how Muslims celebrate their festivals.

Kalsotra on behalf of Dom also greeted the Muslim brother on Shab-e-Qadr & Jamat ul-Vida or the last Friday Jummah in the month of Ramzan has fallen on the 29 April 2022, Considered to be the second holiest day by the members of the Muslim community, it is observed and celebrated with religious fervour and devotion.

Fridays are believed to be more auspicious and blessed days than the rest of the days in the week, therefore, on this last Jummah before Eid, many people engage in charitable activities and attend large prayer congregations in mosques.

He added that all communities in India are given fundamental rights of religion under the Article 25-26 of the Constitution of India. Thus, without any breach in the fundamental rights such festivals should be celebrated. Moreover, participation of people from all religions should be there be it Hindus, Christians or Sikhs, it only reflects our unity.
