Political parties have been at odds, citizens have tried to demand services through lawsuits and ANC factional battles have moved to the courts. But the authors of Lawfare: Judging Politics in South Africa, say there is a danger to the ascendency of lawfare. They argue that you cannot govern and shape society through the courts.
