We have published a video on the 20 black-owned banks. But we want to provide the most complete picture of America’s Black financial institutions and therefore needed a video highlighting Black-owned and managed credit unions as well.

The term “Black-owned” in the broad sense, recognizes that the majority of stockholders and members of these non-profit banks are black. These Black-owned credit unions provide customers not just access to the financial resources they need, but the chance to invest in the financial health and well-being of their members. Each of these Black Credit Unions are dedicated to supporting the economies of the communities in which they serve. Moreover, these institutions tend to focus their lending on small black businesses, black nonprofits, and Black homebuyers.
