Seattle Black Business Network Hosts Mixer For Black Business Owners
#WWConverge
The Seattle Black Business Network brought the business community together over seafood on September 1st at Poco Bar and Lounge, and our Back2Besa crew was there to check in with attendees and hear about the event.
Gordon tapped in with SBBN founder Ernest Kelly III and Poco Bar and Lounge owner Jesse Rhodes.
“Our whole mission is to support Black-owned business,” Kelly said. “In Seattle, there’s not many, and it’s very important for us to have these spaces that represent us.”
For new Seattle residents like Alexis Parker, events like these are a chance to tap in with Seattle’s Black community and find new businesses to support.
“Coming to Seattle was a breath of fresh air for me and starting full time, that has just continued,” Parker said. “I’ve really been able to discover the Black community which is something I was craving.”
Poco Bar and Grill owner Jesse Rhodes says it’s the perfect spot for events like this and hopes the community comes out to try the food and experience the highly curated vibes.
“Poco means purposeful, organic, captivating, and optimistic. It’s something you experience,” Rhodes said. “Instantly you’re in the space of a vibe.”
Our #Back2Besa crew was there documenting the event and connecting you with everything you need to know about what’s new with Seattle’s Black-owned businesses.
You can check out Poco at 1408 E Pine St, Seattle, WA 98122 and connect with the SBBN on their page and their website
Make sure to tune into Back2Besa every Saturday at 10:30 pm on FOX 13 Seattle and stream the replay Sunday at 10 am on FOX 13+.
